I'm off to the Rock

I will be away from this blog, facebook, email and other electronic addictions until June 16th as I'm off to Heart's Delight, Newfoundland, the beautiful village my father was born in. I'm looking forward to seeing some of my relatives that I haven't seen in years, spending time with my folks, and time away to relax and recharge my batteries.

FAVICONS: What the best dressed sites are wearing.

A favicon is a small square extra graphic webmasters design to 'brand' your 'url'. Once programmed into your website, you will see this extra graphic (or custom favicon) when using your browser in three places; in the location bar, in the tabs, and in your favourites list. Most people show their logo (or a version of it), but any graphic or picture (that is not too complex) will work.

Fires in Tyrone?

These signs are popping up all around the Hamlet of Tyrone, located just north of Bowmanville, in Clarington, Ontario, Canada. Why you ask? Because one of the hundred-ish 'gentleman' in Tyrone, who moved here recently, feels compelled to call fire department on his neighbours, some of whom have enjoyed this tradition, for five decades in a safe and responsible fashion. Rather than speaking to the 'offending neighbours', the neighbourly way, the coward makes a call and uses tax payer's money to force our fireman to enforce legislation, there soley to stop dangerous offenders, not friendly fire. One night he reported eight fires, and then whines to the local press that he's being ostracized!!! Give your head a shake man! If you want to be treated like a neighbour, you need to be one! Typically Taz races and 'pimps' the cars, I create the pages and groups, and do most of the typing.
